Summary – basic function of the role

The Production Supervisor will oversee front-line employees to ensure efficiency and quality in production operations.


Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; flexible                                 

Job Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Hires, onboards, and ensures training of front-line employees.
  2. Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.
  3. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations with Value Stream Manager of area.
  4. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


  1. Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  2. Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
  3. Problem solves issues on lines in conjunction with Dept. Leads, quality, and engineering to resolve and keep production moving.
  4. Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  5. Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  6. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  7. Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.

  7. Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
  8. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required, Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience highly preferred.

Physical Demands


Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 50 pounds in weight. Continuously moving throughout the facility as needed. Position may require travel up to 10% of time depending on assigned projects. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.


Work Environment


Primary work environment is a manufacturing floor but will also be required to be in manufacturing facilities and to follow appropriate safety protocols at the location. Employee is exposed to elevated levels of noise on the plant floor.
